Role and Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Business Development Korea Head, this person will direct the establishment of vision and strategies to achieve Applied Materials AGS(Applied Global Service) BU financial goals for accounts.
- Articulate and has accountability for long term vision and strategy for his accounts to expand Applied’s Service Agreements business. Partners with management team and other functions (e.g. product marketing, SBU, Pricing, Segment Business Development) to ensure that business development function is effectively meeting the organization’s strategic goals.
- Responsible for achieving gross margin and service penetration objectives.
- Single Point of Contact for the account teams (GFG(Global Field Group)/AGS) related to all AGS commercial activities.
- Support GFG account teams during Large order processes
- Work jointly with GFG account teams to identify and maximize business opportunities at time of equipment slaes
- Address adhoc GFG requirements for WFE competitive issues - Analyzes market data to identify specific customer trends/opportunities and develops account specific strategic direction from market information.
- Understand customer roadmap and HVPs and ensure service penetration priorities address HVPs.
- Drive Account team/SBU/Finance/FV alignment to support service penetration strategy.
- Jointly own Strategic Negotiation Life Cycle with Account teams. - Lead all Korea Service Business in deal design and negotiation planning. Provide sales for his/her Korea with well-articulated deals within AGS boundaries that drive profitability and enable long-term partnership with customers in the Korea.
- Introduce new service enhancements (PDP, TLM, ECO…) to increase pricing and margin – priorities aligned with the headquater.
- Drive executive approval through NSDR as needed
Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Education
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- 15+ years of experience, including senior leadership roles(s), managing/leading portfolio of products, services, and processes.
- Familiar with Korea customers and ecosystem including key customers decision making process, business and roadmap.
- Ability to build trust as go to partner – regarded as key person within the Korea/organization to take critical decisions and provide inputs to grow the Korea business activities.
- Be able to take well thought, data driven and not always popular decisions under high pressure environment in order to drive the overall Korea objectives.
- Analyzing, processing and decision-making based on multidisciplinary and multi-functional data sources that could frequently be incomplete.
- Sales mind set with Operation understanding.
- Understand end-to-end complex Fab operation, different levels of complexity
- Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the industry in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. This includes enabling the business unit to differentiate itself from the competition
- Process oriented while also strongly developing and relying on interpersonal relationships across the company
- Demonstrated capability to plan at a horizon up to 5 years and beyond.
- Ability to connect equally well upwards, downwards and sideways in the organization
- Very strong ability to translate multi-dimensional market requirements into engineering specifications. This would also include negotiating with the various stakeholders.
