Director Data Products

Job Description: The Global Data Office drives the design and delivery of the enterprise data strategy across Applied Materials. The rapid growth in semiconductor markets across the world presents unprecedented challenges and opportunities in manufacturing, supply chain and logistics. In this role, you will spearhead trusted, intelligent and reusable data products that accelerate decision-making, fuel agentic AI solution, and deliver business value. We need individuals who will partner directly with Business Data Product Owners, translate business goals, use cases, and priorities into data product roadmaps, data designs, and delivery plans. The Data Product Manager will own the “how” of data products—architecture, integration, quality, governance, and delivery. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical and delivery counterpart to Business Data Product Owners.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end design of enterprise data products, including canonical data models, Integration patterns, APIs and consumption layers, Metadata, lineage, and quality rules
  • Translate business requirements from BDPOs into scalable, reusable, and secure data product designs.
  • Ensure data products align with enterprise architecture standards and long‑term platform strategy.
  • Design products that are fit for analytics, operational reporting, and AI/ML use cases.
  • Own delivery of data products from intake through production and adoption.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams across Data Engineering, MDM, Analytics, Platform, and Governance.
  • Drive agile execution: backlog management, sprint planning, releases, and dependency
  • Leverage modern platforms including Databricks, Informatica, SAP, and Power BI.
  • Contribute to a metadata‑driven, AI‑ready data ecosystem.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years experience in data product management, data engineering leadership, or large‑scale data delivery.
  • Strong track record translating business requirements into production‑grade data products.
  • Deep understanding of data architecture and integration, master and reference data concepts, analytics, reporting, and AI enablement, data governance operating models
  • Experience leading delivery in complex, global, matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to bridge business intent and technical execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or industrial domains.
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP (S/4), Informatica (MDM, DQ, Governance), Databricks,
  • Experience operating in a federated data product model with business‑led ownership.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data, or related field.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
