Team Overview
Applied Materials’ Process Engineering team in the Materials Engineering Technology Accelerator (META Center) is seeking a Summer 2026 intern.
Our group leverages Applied Materials’ leading-edge technologies to solve high‑value customer challenges in both research and fabrication settings. This internship offers hands-on experience with advanced semiconductor technologies, including EUV-related processes. You will gain exposure to semiconductor fabrication, develop process understanding, and build skills in experimental design, data analysis, and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
Process Engineers work across technologies such as: Chemical Vapor Deposition, Atomic Layer Deposition, Plasma Reactive Ion Etch, Physical Vapor Deposition, Anneal and Implant.
Work together with senior process engineers to collaborate with internal customers and deliver solutions to variable projects
Lead small development projects involving project coordination, design of experiment, wafer processing, data collection and analysis, documentation, and data presenting
Perform hands-on work including process set up, recipe building and operating the advanced fab operation system.
Support process engineers through procurement, shipping, and inventory functions
Requirements
Currently enrolled in a Master's degree or Ph.D. program in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field
In good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing is preferred
Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and strong motivation to learn
Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

Monday, June 8 - Friday, August 28
Monday, June 15 - Friday, September 4
Compensation
$41-$50 per hour

YesThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
