Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated VMware / Storage Engineer who is responsible for designing, implementation, automating, and supporting an enterprise storage and virtual infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to join a new & growing team responsible for transforming firm’s technology stack.
Candidates must have already hands on experience with automating, administrating, implementing, and supporting medium to large enterprises with 2000+ virtual machines. The candidate must have excellent understanding of VMware, Storage, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service or Infrastructure-as-code solutions. Candidates should have excellent client facing skills and be able to articulate technical issues.
Primary functions and essential responsibilities
Responsible for systems engineering, maintenance scheduling, life cycle management, and capacity management for the VMware environment and related dependent technologies
Responsible for the design, implementation, and support of solutions related to Infrastructure Automation projects and initiatives
Identify inefficiencies, gaps and issues, and drive the analysis and documentation of technical requirements for a hybrid infrastructure architecture
Responsible for keeping track of existing ESX, VMware license and resource usage, trending and capacity planning for future growth
Troubleshooting and triaging of system backup alerts.
Work with vendors on service requests and drive resolution.
Handling day-to-day Veeam/Cohesity and off-site operations work.
Performance analysis of overall system health.
Repository management and troubleshooting.
Network configuration and performance.
Apply software updates and deploy new systems.
Work with team to identify and automate Veeam/Cohesity operational tasks.
Assist customers with Linux and Windows guest backup policies as needed.
Azure Blob, Disk and Network management.
Troubleshooting performance or configuration issues.
Maintain documentation and update periodically.
Escalate and communicate as per standard operating procedures.
Perform on-call support (off-hours / weekend rotation) as required.
Work with Systems teams to automation infrastructure workloads
Work with Service Desk and Production Support teams for incident escalations
Work with Security Operations team for remediation initiatives
Qualifications
Education: BS Degree preferred
Experience Required:
10+ years hands on experience with VMware vSphere or other virtualization platforms.
10+ years hands on experience with vSphere, vSAN, and other VMware products and platforms.
10+ years hands on experience with Cohesity and Veeam products and platforms.
Deep understanding of server provisioning workflows and automation platforms.
Enterprise experience in Active Directory Domains and Trusts.
Excellent experience in Windows PowerShell, Python scripting .
Excellent knowledge in operating systems including Windows OS / Linux.
Excellent understanding of virtualization technology.
Experience with automation platform such as vRealize.
General Requirements:
ITIL, VMware, MCSE, or MCITP Certified.
NetApp, HPE, Veeam, or Cohesity Certified.
Excellent verbal, written communication, and technical documentation skills
Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementing skills.
Detail oriented, focus on customer satisfaction and end-user experience.
Able to perform analysis and clearly communicate gaps in analysis to business and requirements to development teams.
Work with Service Desk and Production Support teams for incident escalations.
Work with Security Operations team for remediation initiatives.

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$140,000 - $165,000
