Job Description

The Dev Ops team is looking for an Associate with experience in cloud and infrastructure systems to join our IT team at Ares Management. The IT team consists of over 200 team members globally and is responsible for the firm’s technology landscape. The Dev Ops team within IT oversees and manages Ares’ cloud and Dev Ops roadmap, focusing on championing new solutions, establishing best practices and driving modern technology adoption.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for solutioning, automating and implementing systems and services with an emphasis on cloud technologies. The role requires understanding of cloud, hybrid and on-premises architectures and the corresponding infrastructure components.

Primary functions and essential responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design cloud focused solutions leveraging modern Dev Ops tools and methodologies to modernize legacy systems and infrastructure

  • Implement tools and solutions to integrate, automate and orchestrate cloud operational needs

  • Develop automation processes leveraging PowerShell, python, JSON and other scripting utilities

  • Engineer configuration management solutions utilizing tools such as Ansible and Jenkins

  • Create CI/CD pipelines to support business applications and infrastructure systems

  • Lead and execute migrations aligned with the company’s Azure cloud journey

  • Establish and maintain standards, policies and content for source code repositories

  • Identify technology gaps, recommend architecture/product changes to increase stability and reliability

  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical details and assist in formulating solutions

  • Provide infrastructure systems support and perform root cause analysis of issues

  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes; recommending solutions to improve scalability, redundancy, and operational efficiency

  • Maintain Jira tasks, Confluence documentation and participate in team stand-ups

  • Document architectural standards and processes around those standards

Qualifications

Experience Required:

  • 2+ years of total experience as an infrastructure engineer

  • Scripting languages: PowerShell and Python

  • Experience with Identity Solutions such as Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, OKTA, etc.

  • Experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems

  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops or equivalent CI/CD / Code Repositories

  • GIT basics and branching strategies

  • Experience with Jenkins / Ansible

  • Experience working in Private/Public/Hybrid Clouds

  • Network Security & knowledge of WAN and LAN technologies

  • Extensive practical knowledge of all layers of the OSI network model

  • Strong business analysis skills - capturing and documenting requirements

  • Experience with a large, functionally diverse, and informed user base that demands high quality applications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent technical proficiency and professional work experience

  • Microsoft / Azure certifications

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$120,000 - $140,000
