Job Description
- PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and supervise a team focused on Fund Accounting & Financial Reporting supporting, supporting Ares’Infrastructure Opportunities funds.
- Manage relationship with multiple stakeholders in different regions and ensure the local team objectivesare aligned to overall functional objectives.
- Provide an escalation framework and help the different regions work as an extension of same team
- Provide overall direction to team to assure synchronized teamwork that accomplishes monthly, quarterly,and annual financial and operational goals & objectives.
- Ensure process and procedures are adequate to meet quality standards and are consistently applied andregularly reviewed.
- Review of quarterly and annual US GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures for multiple fundsas well as capital account summaries for limited partners.
- Work with and liaise with teams across the organization, including communication with portfoliomanagers, investor relations, operations, tax and financial reporting along with external fundadministrators and external auditors to meet all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines.
- Produce cash flow projections and analyze daily cash management, including activity on credit lines,expected settlement timing of purchases and sales, and timing of capital calls and capital distributions.
- Review calculation of management fees & complex waterfall calculations.
- Monitor compliance with the Fund’s Limited Partnership Agreements and credit facilities, including thepreparation or review of compliance reporting.
- Prepare and assist with ad-hoc limited partner reporting, analyst and front-office requests, working inconjunction with colleagues across region to ensure timely response to our investors
- Review/ prepare performance reporting, including IRRs, TWRs with focus on automation
- Review and approval of expense activity and authorization of bank wires.
- Assist with preparation of information provided to tax team for quarterly tax estimates and annual returns.
- Review regulatory compliance filings (e.g. Form ADV, AIFMD filing, Form PF, SLT, etc.)
- Actively work on continuous improvement as we continue to build out the Ares India office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Approximately 8+ years of relevant work experience
- Bachelors’ degree in related field (Finance, Accounting or Economics) from accredited institution
- Chartered Accountant or CPA license preferred
General Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment; excited about working in a start-up environment with the backing and infrastructure of a well-established industry leader
- Strong communication skills will be important; ability to analyze and summarize complex information both verbally and in writing with colleagues in the United States
- Knowledge of private equity structures, fixed income securities, debt instruments, alternative investments, securitization, or other investment products preferred
- Ability to assist in managing several third-party relationships (outside administrators, custodians)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to multi-task and manage various deadlines
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; attention to detail and timelines required
- Experience with certain systems (eFront, Investran, Advent Geneva) preferred
- Experience with complex partnership structures, such as US blocker and feeder Funds, privately traded BDCs and experience with Luxemburg domiciled funds a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Anaplan, Top Q, or Alteryx is a plus, along with advanced skills in Excel
