Job Description
Ares Infrastructure Opportunities (“AIO”) is hiring a Portfolio Management Associate, which directly supports its Investment Team in New York, NY.
AIO is an equity-oriented infrastructure group that employs both value-add and core strategies to invest in assets and companies within the sustainable infrastructure, asset class. Target sectors include renewable energy, energy storage, natural gas, transportation, resource efficiency, low carbon molecules, infrastructure services, and digital infrastructure. We leverage our technical and financial skill set, industry relationships, and the Ares platform to source proprietary deal flow, structure downside protection, and seek attractive risk-adjusted returns for our investors.
We manage $7.4bn across our two strategies and three main funds. AIO draws upon a broadly-skilled and cohesive team of approximately 30 investment professionals with deep sector expertise and strong industry relationships.
Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for portfolio management of investments made by Ares Core Infrastructure Fund (“ACI”). ACI is a perpetual, open-ended, core infrastructure fund that will primarily be making asset-level investments in the renewable, thermal, midstream, and digital sectors.
Responsibilities will cover a range of Financial Planning and Analytics (“FP&A”) initiatives including monthly valuation analysis and reporting, tracking financial and operational investment performance, preparing financial and operational reporting, monitoring contract compliance and counterparty reporting, fund-level modeling analysis, and presenting analyses to internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will directly support the Investment Team on existing and new investments.
Key Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Producing detailed Net Asset Value (“NAV”) analysis on a monthly basis and NAV forecasts
- Monitoring, reporting, and analyzing operational and financial performance of projects and investments versus budget
- Interfacing with portfolio investment counterparties, financing counterparties, and other external partners
- Monitoring contract compliance including preparation of key metrics such as Debt Service Coverage Ratios
- Fund-level financial modeling, updating investment projections to match realized and revised projected performance, and other quantitative analysis
- Preparation and presentation of analyses and reporting materials to internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborating closely with the Investment team, FP&A team and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with financial regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent, along with relevant work experience
- 2-3 years of finance or accounting experience with exposure to (i) valuation methods and (ii) power, energy, or infrastructure experience required
- The candidate should possess strong finance and analytical abilities as well as strong financial modeling capabilities (in Excel) and excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Industry knowledge and experience is strongly preferred.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$110,000.00 - $140,000.00
