Job Description
Ares Infrastructure Debt is hiring an Associate to join its team based in Sydney. Our global team, with offices in New York, London, Singapore, and Sydney, invests across core infrastructure sectors including power, energy, transport, and telecommunications. Since 2000, the team has deployed over $12bn across 130+ assets, making us one of the world’s leading infrastructure debt investors.
Primary Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll be responsible for originating, structuring, and executing new transactions, with a strong focus on financial analysis, research, preparing presentations and memos, and managing both new and existing investments. Key responsibilities include:
Build financial models and determine appropriate capital structure with acceptable levels of debt and equity
Perform in-depth diligence into investments, to develop a deep understanding of the merits and risks of potential investments
Prepare and present investment memos to the investment committee
Support deal execution and closing workstreams on new investments
Conduct regular market research and competitor intelligence identifying trends and new business areas
Assist in the identification of opportunities
Assist in the preparation of pitch proposals and marketing materials for new business activities
Support portfolio management for each investment
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or international equivalent
Minimum of 3 years’ experience at a top-tier investment bank or private equity firm in infrastructure project finance, M&A, or corporate finance
Requirements:
Proactive self-starter eager to make an impact, comfortable working in a small, close-knit team
Exceptional financial and analytical skills with strong financial modeling capabilities (in Excel) and high-level proficiency with PowerPoint
Outstanding interpersonal and leadership qualities are a must as well as the ability to confidently interact with senior management, investors, and peers
