Job Description

Ares Management is seeking an experienced and collaborative Vice President Enterprise Talent Development Process Lead to join our highly dynamic Human Resources team that is constantly innovating and striving to positively impact the people of Ares.

In this newly created role, the Enterprise Talent Process Lead will be a strategic visionary and hands on leader, serving as the expert in all enterprise talent processes for the firm. This individual will be responsible for designing, building, and executing a best-in-class, globally integrated talent process strategy, leveraging industry-leading practices to assess, develop, and elevate our employees.

This role will take on primary ownership for the following processes and capabilities:

  • Performance Management, including, Goal Setting, Mid-Year Reviews and Year-End Reviews (including 360-degree assessments)

  • Talent Assessment

  • Promotion Criteria and Processes

  • Succession Planning

  • Engagement Survey Management

The person in this role will also be responsible for the establishment of additional new talent processes as required by the organization.

Supervises: Associate, Talent Development

Primary functions & responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Process/Program Design:

  • Lead the global strategy, design, implementation, and governance of all enterprise talent processes, ensuring they support business goals, reflect industry best practices, and foster an inclusive culture.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices and bring innovative ideas and solutions into the enterprise.

  • Ensure all programs are globally scalable and locally relevant, supporting the needs of a diverse, international workforce.

Technology & Analytics:

  • Own the full lifecycle of our talent management systems (e.g., viaPeople and future platforms), partnering with HR Technology on vendor selection and implementation, to ensure seamless integration and user adoption.

  • Collaborate with Reporting & Analytics to turn data into actionable insights, measuring program impact and guiding continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

  • Serve as the key point of contact for HR Business Partners and business leaders, providing expert guidance, training, and communications.

  • Build strong relationships across HR, business units, and global locations to ensure alignment and partnership.

  • Provide expert consulting, guidance, and support to leaders and members of the HR team.

Operational Excellence & Change Leadership:

  • Oversee project planning, delivery, and change leadership (including related communications and training programs) for all talent processes, ensuring effective execution, measurable outcomes, and ongoing enhancement of programs.

  • Drive organizational agility by leading change initiatives that support business transformation and future-readiness.

Team Leadership:

  • Build, empower, and develop a high-performing team that supports enterprise talent processes, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive Human Resources experience in fast-paced, complex, and global organizations, with at least 8–10 years focused on Talent Development or a closely related function.

  • Demonstrated success designing, implementing, and governing end-to-end talent processes at scale, across diverse geographies and business units.

  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, global projects with ambiguous parameters and a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership.

  • Hands-on experience creating and delivering engaging content, training, and communications for a variety of audiences.

  • Deep expertise in enterprise change leadership, driving organizational agility and transformation.

  • Strong track record of people leadership, including building, developing, and inspiring high-performing teams.

  • Advanced proficiency in leveraging “talent” technology and data analytics to inform strategy, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Experience embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into talent programs and processes.

  • Exceptional relationship-building, consulting, and influencing skills, with a collaborative approach to partnering across HR, business units, and global locations.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$175,000-$225,000
