Job Description

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Financial Systems plays a critical leadership role in advancing the firm’s global financial technology ecosystem. This individual will serve as a senior subject‑matter expert and strategic partner to the Principal of Financial Systems, with a primary focus on optimizing, governing, and expanding the firm’s global Yardi platform—with emphasis on the Investment Accounting module. The AVP will drive system architecture, data integrity, reporting, and process automation across a diverse international real estate and investment portfolio.

This role requires deep technical fluency, strong accounting and asset‑management acumen, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across regions, functions, and seniority levels.

Key Responsibilities

Yardi Platform Leadership

  • Serve as a senior Yardi expert, overseeing configuration, enhancements, integrations, and best‑practice governance.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Yardi Investment Accounting, including complex structures, waterfalls, consolidations, and multi‑currency workflows.
  • Partner with global accounting, asset management, treasury, and operations teams to ensure Yardi supports evolving business needs.

Data, Reporting & Technical Execution

  • Develop and maintain advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models to support reporting, analytics, and system integrations.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of Yardi schema to troubleshoot issues, design scalable solutions, and ensure data accuracy across modules.
  • Oversee data governance, quality controls, and reconciliation processes across international entities.

Strategic Systems Management

  • Collaborate with the Principal of Financial Systems to define long‑term technology strategy, roadmap, and architecture.
  • Lead or support system implementations, upgrades, and cross‑platform integrations (e.g., data warehouses, BI tools, third‑party applications).
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend enhancements that improve efficiency, transparency, and automation.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on system capabilities, process improvements, and operational risks.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non‑technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required

  • Extensive hands‑on experience with Yardi Voyager 7s and Voyager 8, including deep expertise in the Investment Accounting module.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, relational database concepts, and Yardi schema architecture.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, investment structures, consolidations, and real estate or asset‑management operations.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting international entities, including multi‑currency environments and reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead complex system initiatives from design through execution.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL tools, or BI/reporting platforms.
  • Strong understanding of all Commercial modules within Yardi including Fixed Assets, P2P suite, Aspire ,Construction, Forecast and Deal Manager.
  • Familiarity with fund accounting, performance measurement, or investor reporting.
  • Strong background in EU or Japan international operations, including language.

Reporting Relationships

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$160,000 - $180,000
