Job Description

Ivy Hill Asset Management (“IHAM”), an SEC-registered investment adviser and wholly owned portfolio company of Ares Capital Corporation (“ARCC”), primarily focuses on investing in senior secured debt in middle market companies. As of December 31, 2025, IHAM managed approximately $14.6 billion in AUM through structured investment vehicles and managed accounts.

IHAM is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Analyst to join its Investment team. This execution-focused role is designed for candidates early in their careers who are eager to develop deep technical, analytical, and credit skills within an entrepreneurial, high-performance environment. Over time, strong performers will gain broader exposure, increasing complexity in their work, and a clear path toward greater responsibility as they progress within the firm.

Key Position Responsibilities:

The Analyst will play a critical support role and work with junior & senior investment professionals across the full investment lifecycle, including underwriting & credit analysis of new financing opportunities, post-closing portfolio management, fundraising, and broader firm strategic initiatives.

Investments & Underwriting

  • Assist the deal team in screening new investment opportunities and re-underwriting existing credits
  • Perform complex financial analysis, market research, and LBO modeling, including base case & downside sensitivities
  • Support Associates/Senior Associates in preparing Investment Committee materials
  • Assist in coordinating deal closings with internal teams and external counterparties
  • Gain exposure as a generalist across multiple industry verticals

Portfolio Management

  • Support senior investment professionals in monitoring a portfolio of existing investments
  • Review borrower financials and covenant compliance, and prepare internal portfolio reporting and quarterly valuations
  • Assist with analytical support for amendment processes, secondary market purchases, and workout or restructuring situations

Fund Management & Strategic

  • Assist fund managers in monitoring deployment and performance of existing structured vehicles and managed accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Maintain complex, Excel-based CLO models for quarterly fund valuations
  • Support new fundraising efforts, including preparation of loan tapes, portfolio analysis, investor due diligence questionnaires, and CLO models
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly industry reports, IHAM marketing materials, and cash analysis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent), preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field with an outstanding academic record
  • Relevant internship and/or up to 1-2 years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, investment banking, or buyside research
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and research capabilities
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Impeccable integrity, intellectual curiosity, and a strong desire to learn

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$120,000.00 - $130,000.00
