The Opportunity

As a Project Manager at Arup you will use your consulting and specialised skills to solve real-world problems, working directly with clients and alongside technical experts. This will give you opportunities to grow and develop as a professional in one of the most dynamic and exciting global regions. You can also work with our global talent pool and extend your experiences to other parts of the world. This full-time role is based in the India (Mumbai) office and focuses on delivering programme and project management services while leading the day-to-day execution of a key framework contract with a banking client, as part of the broader Programme & Projects regional team. The position involves managing client-side commercial fit-out projects, including restacks and new builds, as well as regional engineering upgrades such as critical systems (UPS, chillers, cooling systems) and general engineering improvements. You will apply in-depth knowledge and expertise to deliver high-quality work across diverse industries and project scales, covering services such as project management, risk management, design coordination, procurement advisory, project controls, and PMO support. Acting as the face of Arup, you will work proactively with the client to manage resources, timelines, budgets, risks, communications, and reporting, ensuring objectives are met and value is delivered to both Arup and the client. Collaboration with other Arup programme and project managers is key, fostering a high-performing team environment, sharing insights, and driving successful outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver regional office fit-out and engineering projects (new build & existing systems).

  • Act as single point of contact for client teams and coordinate across Engineering, Security, IT, and Facilities.

  • Ensure compliance with governance, manage procurement, reporting, and stage gates from inception to handover.

  • Lead project planning, stakeholder communication, and team management to achieve time, cost, and quality goals.

  • Drive commercial success, contribute to bids/proposals, and foster client relationships.

  • Support team development through guidance, training, and feedback.

Is this role right for you?

We'd love to hear from you if you have -

  • 10–15 years’ experience in project management/delivery within consulting, with strong client-side fit‑out expertise (especially financial services).

  • Qualified in engineering, project management, architecture, or business; holds/pursues professional accreditation (PMP, AiPM, CPPM, APM).

  • Proven ability to manage time, cost, quality, and performance; delivers robust project setups, execution plans, and governance compliance.

  • Skilled in stakeholder communication, reporting, and providing strategic advice for optimal outcomes.

  • Professional consulting approach with strong leadership, team management, and business development capabilities.
