The Opportunity
Launch your career in lighting design and contribute to impactful projects where creativity, sustainability, and innovation come together. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across multiple stages of the design process while working within a multidisciplinary environment.
As a Graduate Lighting Designer at Arup, you will:
Assist in conceptual design, contributing ideas and early-stage visual approaches for architectural lighting concepts.
Support the development of 2D drawings and 3D models, architectural visualisations, and lighting simulations.
Contribute to the design development process from concept to delivery, collaborating with architects, designers, and specialist teams.
Participate in project reviews and, where possible, attend site visits to gain practical exposure.
Does this role inspire you?
We’re looking for a graduate passionate about lighting design, with a strong interest in both natural and artificial lighting and a desire to work on international, design‑led projects. We also value:
A current or recently completed Master’s degree in Lighting Design.
A high level of English (C1).
Strong interest in new technologies such as AI/VR/AR and scripting.
Knowledge of Dialux EVO, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros; experience with scripting and Adobe Suite is an advantage.
Proactivity, dynamism, and curiosity to work on international projects.
