The Opportunity
Arup is seeking a Data Centres Senior Architect to join its growing architectural team in Mumbai. This role involves leading significant and complex data centre projects (in the UAE and Saudi Arabia). The successful candidate will work within large, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable ‘Total Architecture’ solutions. Currently we are looking for a capable and independent individual for the following position as part of the multi-disciplinary team in our Mumbai office.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage architectural teams on major data centre projects, engaging closely with clients, statutory authorities, stakeholders, and contractors across the UAE and Saudi Arabia to ensure clear communication and effective collaboration. Oversee design development, reviews, and presentations using drawings, physical models, and virtual models, while driving the implementation of automation within a BIM-led design and delivery environment. Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to produce fully coordinated project deliverables, including BIM models, drawings, schedules, and specifications, while ensuring full compliance with Arup’s Quality Management System. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, with flexibility to relocate to site-based offices and travel to other Arup offices as required to support project needs.

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience delivering medium- to large-scale data centre projects, with strong sector-specific expertise.
At least 3 years’ experience working on projects in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, either in-country or from a remote design office.
Proven experience across all design stages, from feasibility through to construction, with a strong understanding of international best practice and building codes in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Demonstrated ability to deliver projects with a strong focus on holistic design and sustainability.
Proficiency in Revit.
Fluency in spoken and written English, with strong graphic communication skills.

Knowledge of commercial aspects of projects and contracts is an advantage.
