We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer (General Civils Design) to support and lead integrated civil engineering design across a broad range of infrastructure and site development projects.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will support or lead the delivery of master planning, technical due diligence, feasibility studies, and preliminary and detailed civil engineering design. You will work across grading design, site development layouts, drainage systems, utilities, road networks, and more — contributing to critical infrastructure such as roads, rail, water, energy, and large-scale development projects). You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, drafters, clients, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high‑quality, timely outputs while upholding Arup’s standards of excellence.
Your role in our team
- Provide technical leadership across a variety of infrastructure projects, including roads, rail, utilities, water, energy, marine, and large site developments.
- Work with minimal supervision and help lead a small team of civil design engineers and technicians.
- Plan resources, manage workflows, and ensure timely delivery of project outputs.
- Participate in and chair kick‑off, progress, and coordination meetings with clients and stakeholders.
- Develop site grading, earthworks, road grading plans, and civil layout designs.
- Design stormwater drainage, sewerage collection, potable/firewater networks, and utility corridors (fiber, telecoms, electrical).
- Design rigid and flexible pavements in accordance with AASHTO, FHWA, DPWH, and other standards.
- Produce civil drawings and engineering documents, including technical reports and feasibility assessments.
- Conduct site visits and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Provide accurate engineering information on alignments, routes, and physical site data.
- Support the team in archiving project documents and maintaining communication with project managers
Is this role right for you?
- Licensed Civil Engineer or Environmental & Sanitary Engineer; postgraduate studies (MSc/PhD) an advantage.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience ideally from multidisciplinary consulting environments.
- Experience in a wide range of civil infrastructure, including:
roads, highways, bridges, railways
water projects (RWTP, WWTP, STP, pipelines, sewer networks)
energy (solar, wind, hydropower, substations, transmission)
marine/coastal structures
airports, industrial parks, reclamation, residential and property developments - Practical knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, DPWH (DGCS, Blue Book) and related local/international standards.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD/MicroStation, Civil3D/OpenRoads, ArcGIS, HEC‑RAS/HMS, Water/SewerGEMS, Infoworks‑ICM, and similar tools.
- Advantageous skills include Infraworks and other BIM‑modelling tools, programming (C++, VB, SQL, Python),visual programming (Grasshopper, Dynamo, Power BI, GeometryGym, Salamander, Karamba), automation tools (AutoIT, Speckle)and visualization tools (SketchUp, Power BI, Studio Viz/Max)

Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
