Arup is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Urban Planner / Senior Urban Designer to join our growing Cities, Planning and Design (CPD) team in Vietnam. Based in Vietnam and embedded within Arup’s wider South-East Asia, regional and global planning networks, you will work on strategic planning and masterplanning projects that shape cities across Vietnam and the region. This role offers the opportunity to deliver impactful, multidisciplinary projects while contributing to business growth, thought leadership and the future direction of the planning practice.

The Opportunity

· Lead and deliver strategic planning, masterplanning and urban design projects across Vietnam and South-East Asia within multidisciplinary teams.

· Manage project delivery, assemble and lead project teams, and ensure high-quality outputs that meet client, budget and programme requirements.

· Collaborate with advisory, urban design, mobility, sustainability and engineering teams to deliver integrated, city-shaping solutions.

· Support work winning through bid preparation, client engagement and leveraging industry networks across Vietnam and the region.

· Mentor and develop junior staff while contributing to capability building, knowledge sharing and planning skills networks across Arup.

Is this role right for you?

· Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Economics or a related discipline, with 6–10+ years’ relevant experience.

· Strong consulting experience in Vietnam, with demonstrated involvement in strategic planning and masterplanning projects for public and private sector clients.

· A client-focused, values-driven mindset with excellent communication, analytical and presentation skills in both Vietnamese and English.

· Established industry networks in Vietnam, with an interest in business development and contributing to regional growth opportunities.

· Passion for sustainability and urban resilience, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.
