With a mandate to grow its Investor Advisory team and capabilities, Arup requires a motivated individual with proven economic advisory experience gained on major infrastructure projects. The purpose of this role is to support the Investor Advisory offering across the Asia Pacific region, based in Brisbane. This role will help shape the future of Arup’s Investor Advisory business and will include project delivery, winning work, delivering technical advice, client engagement and team leadership. You will provide economic and, business case and commercial advice on a variety of infrastructure projects across transport, housing, water, energy, maritime and international development.

The Opportunity

  • You will provide timely and quality technical and economic advice to clients, ensuring recommendations are evidence-based and aligned with client needs
  • You will undertake business development and work-winning activities by leading proposals, tender documents, and client relationship-building activities while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams across Arup to develop winning bids and deliver integrated project solutions
  • You will lead the preparation of economics advisory workstreams and economic advisory projects, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and strategic insight
  • Deliver advisory services across multiple sectors, including transport, water, energy, waste, maritime, and precinct development
  • Mentor, coach, and develop graduate-level team members, providing training in economic modelling, analysis, and professional skills

Is this role right for you?

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance or Economics or similar area;

  • Economic Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) experience within a consulting business environment;

  • Experience in preparing government-side strategic business case documents to facilitate preliminary government investment decisions

  • Ability to uphold high standards in work, meticulously reviewing all aspects to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Understanding of “client” needs (both internal and external), and ability to effectively and efficiently manage the issues which may impact project outcomes
  • Ability to maintain personal effectiveness, workload issues, and team relationships, both under normal circumstances, and at times of significant pressure
