The Commercial Leader is responsible for overseeing commercial risk and opportunity across the South Australian business. You will lead commercial strategy and risk management for both winning and delivering work, ensuring strong governance, consistency and positive commercial outcomes. Acting as a trusted advisor to the State Leader and leadership team, you will help shape business strategy, capability and growth through insight-driven commercial leadership.
The Opportunity
• Lead commercial and risk management across the South Australian project portfolio, including contractual negotiations and third-party engagements.
• Provide strategic commercial advice to the State Leader, Project Directors, Project Managers, Bid Directors and Bid Managers across all project stages.
• Review bids and projects, intervene where required, and conduct regular commercial, project and leadership reviews in line with regional policy.
• Analyse state-level commercial metrics and financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, informing business planning and decision-making.
• Build commercial capability by mentoring project leaders, supporting recruitment and delivering commercial training across the SA business.

Is this role right for you?
• A relevant degree qualification (or equivalent experience) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Finance or Engineering, with extensive commercial leadership experience.
• Strong expertise across a range of contracting models, including alliances, D&C, panels and joint ventures, supported by deep claims and dispute resolution experience.
• A strategic, commercially astute mindset with the ability to influence, advise and partner effectively with senior leaders.
• A digital-first, solutions-focused approach, with strong appreciation of systems, data and process to drive commercial performance.
• A collaborative leadership style grounded in inclusion, mentorship and hands-on engagement to achieve positive project and business outcomes.
