Our integrated team in Dallas is looking for a Senior Project Manager to support our work in the Science, Industry, and Technology sector. Successful candidates may have backgrounds as either licensed engineers or certified planners able to manage multidisciplinary design teams. The Dallas office also supports transportation projects including aviation and rail, as well as buildings and facilities projects across all sectors. In addition to supporting projects from the Dallas office, this will be a regional support role where you’ll be working on projects all over the Americas region.

The team undertakes unique and challenging projects. We look for team members with the technical expertise to achieve creative solutions.

The Opportunity

  • Manage transportation planning projects in the scope of Arup’s work including traffic, transit and active transportation, these projects’ influence on land use, and looking ahead to future mobility.
  • Manage multidisciplinary design and/or planning projects working in conjunction with discipline team leaders to help achieve client objectives and deliver projects that achieve Arup’s commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability.
  • Attend meetings with clients to understand their design needs and issues, and to present proposed solutions and approaches.
  • Prepare and review study reports, bids, proposals, scopes of work, estimates, schedules, specifications, work instructions, design concepts, scope change documents, correspondence, and other project documentation in accordance with the project scope of work
  • Work with the design and project control teams team to achieve Arup commercial performance objectives undertaking financial management of projects and being responsible for client relationships, and management of subcontractors.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for internal and external meetings and represent Arup to clients and the public. Present technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Manage preparation of high-quality project deliverables through application of Arup management and quality systems.
  • Support business development efforts and build client relationships. Establish connections with professional colleagues, develop marketing leads, prepare proposals and associated materials.
  • Participating in local and national professional associations, including volunteer efforts that advance their goals and objectives while also building professional network of relationships and recognition of Arup’s value.

Is this role right for you?

  • Undergraduate or Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, or closely related disciplines.
  • 10+ years progressively responsible professional experience in design and/or planning fields.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary planning and/or engineering projects.
  • Professional qualifications including professional engineering license or AICP certification is highly desirable.
  • Professional leadership demonstrated by publications, committee memberships, professional presentations, or other activities.
  • The ability to work under pressure, to prioritize effectively, and to manage deadlines.
  • Exceptional organization skills required for our rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
  • Presentation skills regarding technical topics for colleagues and clients of all levels.

Dallas Hiring Range – Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Dallas is $120,000 to $130,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Dallas will differ.
