The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering team and help deliver a wide range of rail projects. You’ll contribute to technical design, project delivery, and the development of our electrical capability across local, national, and international rail programmes.
You’ll be part of our Building Engineering group, working closely with colleagues across the UK and globally. Together, you’ll support major clients, including Network Rail and regional transport organisations, by delivering clear, well‑coordinated electrical engineering solutions.
You’ll use the latest Microsoft and Autodesk digital tools to support project delivery, with opportunities to help shape new digital approaches when existing tools don’t meet project needs.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll communicate effectively with clients and internal partners, helping manage progress, risks, and key milestones. You’ll also play an active role in knowledge‑sharing and continuous improvement, supporting others and contributing to a collaborative, inclusive working environment.
At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share, and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
Is this role right for you?
We are looking for someone who:
Is Chartered Engineer status (or working towards Chartership via IET or CIBSE) with experience in electrical engineering design
Has experience delivering UK multidisciplinary design projects within a consultancy environment
