We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who will help anchor the Energy Team delivery of projects. This role will be based in our East Geography (can be based out of our Boston, Chicago, New York, New Jersey or Washington DC offices) and is suited to a candidate who has both passion and experience finding opportunities for distributed energy microgrids, large scale EVSE charging infrastructure, leading technical and economic evaluation of systems, and evaluating conceptual opportunities for microgrid applicability. This role is focused on leading the engineering design of behind-the-meter and front-of-the-meter energy applications.
The successful individual will join an integrated and growing team of urban energy professionals across disciplines in a well-rounded service offering inclusive of energy modelers, campus thermal system engineers, electrical & power engineers, civil engineers, economic advisors, and resilience & sustainability consultants.
The Opportunity
• Leading the preparation of design packages from conceptualization to construction documents for multidisciplinary energy projects up to 1000V. This includes drawings and calculations for single line diagrams, electrical layouts, utility plans, along with their associated specifications.
• Lead the Preparation of Interconnection Permits and Load Letters.
• Deliver feasibility studies and red flag reports.
• Produce Energy Modeling to quantify energy needs, and right-size equipment for a given set of parameters.
• Provide construction support.
• Present work product to client and be able to capture feedback.
• Develop technical proposal for prospective work.

Is this role right for you?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering,
- At least 8 years experience working in the renewable power generation sector at an urban or utility scale.
- Experience performing electrical engineering calculations as well as developing detailed design drawings and specification packages.
- PE license or eligible to obtain PE license, and willingness/ability to take on the Electrical Engineer of Record (EOR) role on projects
- Must possess strong technical communication skills (writing and verbal) and be able to read and interpret technical literature and engineering plans.
- Ability to perform power system techno-economic evaluations using software such as PVSyst, Helioscope, Homer or Xendee software is preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD software, modeling, design and/or analysis software is preferred
- Ability to perform engineering and design calculations for utility scale facilities (solar, BESS, substation, wind, etc.) such as grounding study, short circuit study, cable ampacity study, load flow study, layout, yield study and AC/DC voltage drop calculation is preferred

Boston Hiring Range – Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Boston is $128,000 to $159,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Boston will differ.
