Our Zurich office is growing, and we are looking to strengthen our Project Management capability, particularly within technology and data centre developments. This role offers the opportunity to help establish and grow the Project Management team in Switzerland while working on complex, high‑value projects with international reach.
Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager SIT
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join our Zurich team, delivering large and complex building projects (typically CHF 10–15m+ construction value), primarily within the technology and data centre sector.
You will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day leadership of projects, working with a high level of autonomy while drawing on senior support where required. The role spans the full project lifecycle, from design and procurement through to construction, handover and close‑out.
In addition to technology projects, there may be opportunities to contribute to work in commercial property, science and industry, as well as to support business development, due diligence, design management and advisory services across disciplines.
What you will do
Lead the delivery of complex building projects from a Client-side project management perspective
Establish, manage and monitor project programmes, challenging schedules where needed
Coordinate multi‑disciplinary design teams to deliver outcomes aligned with the brief, programme and budget
Manage cost control, change management and procurement activities in collaboration with specialist teams
Administer construction contracts and oversee contractor performance during delivery
Build and maintain strong Client relationships within complex stakeholder environments
Coordinate internal and external teams across design, commercial, procurement, operations and specialist support
Lead project close‑out, handover and lessons learned processes
Champion Arup’s commitment to safety, quality, collaboration and sustainability
Is this role right for you?
You will bring:
A professional qualification in a construction‑related discipline
Proven experience delivering medium to large‑scale building projects, ideally including values above CHF 10–15m
Experience across design, procurement and construction phases
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills within large project teams
Fluency in English and at least intermediate (B2) German
Experience within technology, data centres and/or life sciences (preferred)
A collaborative mindset, with the ability to bring teams together to achieve shared objectives
Enthusiasm for complex projects and alignment with Arup’s values and purpose
