This Associate Principal role will drive the growth of Arup’s Environmental & Social Advisory Services across Southeast Asia. The position will be based in Manila with flexibility to be located elsewhere in SEA for the right candidate. The role focuses on driving market growth, leading business development, and providing senior technical oversight on E&S Advisory projects, while working closely with regional CSS specialists to build strong client relationships and advance thought leadership in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Environmental and Social Due Diligence and Environmental and Social Compliance.

The Opportunity

  • Identify, shape and deliver Business and Marketing (B&M) strategies for Climate and Sustainability Services (CSS) across Southeast Asia with direct responsibility for Environmental and Social Advisory (E&S Advisory) alongside regional and international CSS leaders in Arup.
  • Identify and evaluate growth opportunities for E&S Advisory services in SEA, managing and preparing proposals and capability statements for key clients and project opportunities.
  • Lead the E&S Advisory team in business development and client engagement activities, developing strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and collaborators and fostering a strong team identity and service offering.
  • Represent Arup at industry events, conferences and forums and both internal and external communications on innovation, trends and regulatory changes in the E&S Advisory market in SEA
  • Building and developing new skills in the SEA E&S Advisory team, supporting team growth and professional development

Is this role right for you?

  • At least 15 years professional experience within chosen industry or field, with a strong preference for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and E&S Due Diligence (E&S-DD).
  • Demonstrated evidence in B&M in Southeast Asia, particularly in business development, strategic partnerships and building client relationships in relation to E&S Advisory and CSS more widely.
  • Proven experience in a consulting and advisory environments.
  • Proven experience in developing teams and business areas.
  • Recognised as an expert within chosen industry or field, with a strong preference for EIA, ESIA, E&S-DD.
  • Knowledge applying international CSS standards relevant to chosen industry or field (e.g. ADB, IFC, World Bank, EDGE, LEED etc.)
