Our Energy team is actively supporting the transformation of energy systems through the integration of renewable energy, grid infrastructure and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Energy storage plays a critical role in enabling flexible, reliable and decarbonised power systems by balancing supply and demand and supporting the integration of intermittent renewable generation.

The Opportunity

Launch your career in energy consulting and gain hands-on experience working on diverse projects that address critical challenges in the energy transition. From designing energy generation strategies for big consumers, to design and construction of generation system in emblematic buildings.

This is your chance to support and join a team that has established a reputation for supporting global projects, both Spanish and international. We offer consulting, advisory, design and planning support services to the main commercial, industrial and institutional clients in Spain and around the world.

As an Energy Consultant at Arup, you will:

• Support the delivery of consulting services across a range of areas, including renewable energy, electricity adquisition and energy efficiency.

• Contribute to techno-economic studies, and feasibility assessments for a diverse portfolio of clients.

• Collaborate with our multidisciplinary teams, including Climate and Sustainability, Investment departament, and electrical specialists, to provide holistic solutions.

• Develop your expertise in energy and electrical engineering and apply it to real-world projects.

• Gain exposure to client interactions and project management, building valuable consulting skills.

Does this role inspire you?

We are looking for someone proactive and dynamic to join the Energy team. Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Studies in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering or similar

• 3-4 years of experience in a position with similar responsibilities

• High level of English (equivalent to C1)

• Experience in energy engineering, design or construction, using specialized software

• Interest in electrical systems, renewable energies, energy storage, building integration, energy efficiency and electricity market

• Good knowledge of MS Office

Bonus points if you have:

• It would be valuable if the selected person has experience in electrical projects that involve renewable energy or BESS, utility scale or building interated

• Knowledge of the principles of HV and MV facilities (especially electrical systems) would be an advantage

• Use of electrical software, CANECO, Etap, Amtech or similar and renewable energy software, as PVsyst, Hellioscope, Homer, etc

• Knowledge of the process of obtaining access and connection

• Knowledge of the structure of the Spanish Electrical Market

• Knowledge of programming languages
