The Pursuits & Bid Lead is responsible for a team of pursuits and bid professionals that enable the development of our business across Southeast Asia (SEA) enabling strategic pursuits, articulation of Arup’s capability in the bid process focusing on how Arup delivers its unique value proposition, deep technical expertise, and market knowledge to solve the client’s most complex challenges, through to bid management, submission and close out.
The opportunity
- Drive strategic pursuits and bid management by collaborating with SEA leaders, leveraging Arup’s global expertise to deliver innovative solutions for local clients.
- Lead early engagement activities, including pursuit strategy development and prepositioning for major, high-impact projects aligned with business objectives.
- Partner with technical teams to develop winning strategies and client-focused proposals, ensuring effective teaming and capture planning for successful outcomes.
- Facilitate rigorous go/no-go decisions and bid reviews, upholding Arup’s standardized practices to secure strong business results.
- Champion the bid development process by allocating resources, ensuring seamless delivery, and maintaining high standards of quality and impactful outcomes.
- Oversee and support the pursuit team, fostering collaboration and driving excellence in proposal preparation, interview materials, and overall team management.
Is this role right for you
- Relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in engineering, architecture, business management, sales, marketing, or a related field.
- APMP certification is preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in planning, executing, and winning strategic pursuits, especially in the Energy, Water, or Transport sectors.
- Extensive experience in proposal development for large-scale projects and leading high-performing bid teams.
- Able to build strong and highly collaborative working relationships with peers, leaders and other stakeholders with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment across multiple countries and cultures.
