Shape a future with purpose at Arup in Copenhagen

Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

At Arup, we take pride in shaping iconic projects that combine innovation, sustainability, and functionality. Our work in Denmark includes groundbreaking projects like the Cityringen Metro, BLOX and the Camp Adventure observation tower. We are a growing, dynamic office of 90+ staff, with a mix of Danish and international talents, and our office is located in the heart of Copenhagen centre.

The Opportunity

Our Business Services team is looking for a passionate Human Resources Student Assistant to join us for a minimum 15 hours per week. You will be working closely with our HR Manager and HR Consultant to support on a wide range of HR tasks, facilitating a high level of service for our staff members in the Copenhagen office. The role will give insight into how HR is managed in an international company and to develop hands-on experience across various HR processes. You will be replacing our current HR Student Assistant who – after a year with us – is graduating and moving abroad.

The Business Services team in Denmark is a dynamic group of professionals from a range of disciplines, including Administration, IT, Facilities, Finance, and HR. Together, we provide first-class support to over 90 colleagues in our Copenhagen office. We're known for our collaborative spirit, quick problem-solving, and a good dose of humour (not to mention our great sense of fashion and excellent playlists). With you on board, we’ll be even better at keeping things running smoothly and making the office an even better place to work.

Furthermore, you’ll be part of a vibrant European HR network, connecting with over 30 colleagues across Europe. We’re currently working on making our processes more efficient and aligning them across countries to strengthen collaboration and create a more seamless experience for everyone involved. It’s a great opportunity to share knowledge, collaborate across borders, and grow as part of an international community.

As an HR Student Assistant at Arup, you will:

  • Support with the administration of onboarding and offboarding

  • Draft employee contracts

  • Managing staff benefits

  • Keep the HR intranet up to date with policies etc.

  • Keep track of employee contract changes and fill-in forms to inform Payroll and Finance

  • Keeping the HR Employee database up to date with new starters, changes and leavers

  • Coordinating and planning job fairs, recruitment events and our Wellbeing Month

  • Preparing slides and materials for the monthly staff breakfast meetings

  • Continuously evolving ad hoc tasks

  • Supporting change management initiatives as the company grows, helping to align and streamline HR processes across the organization.

Does this role inspire you?

We’re looking for a student who is a true team player and thrives in a dynamic, international environment. You’re eager to learn, open to new challenges, and looking for a role where you can gain meaningful, hands-on experience. You take ownership of your work, show strong commitment, and believe that having fun along the way is an important part of doing a great job.

We also value:

  • Students who are currently finishing their bachelor’s or starting their master’s in a related field such as HR, Law, Communications, or Business Management

  • Excellent communication skills

  • A genuine interest in HR

  • A detail-oriented mindset and an understanding of the importance of compliance

  • Eagerness to learn and gain experience across a wide variety of tasks

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel

  • The ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality

  • The ability to speak Danish or Swedish at a professional level

This contract is a temporary contract of 12 months with the possibility to extend.
