The Opportunity
MEP Design/Engineering/Consulting: As a member of the Building Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the MEP design/engineering/consulting practice of projects. You will meet with a variety of clients and lead the MEP design/engineering/consulting of projects including data centers, offices, museums, halls, sports facilities, hotels, etc. You will also work in close cooperation with other Teams/Disciplines such as Structural and Façade engineering teams.
• Reporting line: MEP Discipline Leader
• Lead and deliver electrical engineering design for building services projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support.
• Prepare electrical design calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical reports in accordance with Japanese codes, standards, and regulations, as well as relevant international standards.
• Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams (structural, mechanical, architectural, fire, sustainability) and external stakeholders including clients, authorities, and contractors.
• Support statutory submissions, authority approvals, and respond to technical queries during design and construction phases.
• Participate in site inspections, technical reviews, and design audits as required.
• Contribute to project planning, resource management, and programme delivery to meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Is this role right for you?
Essential requirements
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in electrical building services design, with experience in Japan preferred.
• Strong understanding of Japanese electrical regulations, codes of practice, and approval procedures.
• Native-level Japanese language proficiency
Education / Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Preferred / additional attributes
• A collaborative team player who respects colleagues and can work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Willingness to work proactively with overseas offices
• Positive and open attitude toward communication in English
