Primary Focus:
The primary focus of the Process Engineer role is to support and, where appropriate, lead process engineering activities for water, wastewater, energy, and waste projects across the planning, feasibility, design, and delivery stages. The role will contribute to the development of process designs, technical analyses, and engineering documentation, while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. The Process Engineer will also provide technical support to the Design Manager or Project Manager on larger water infrastructure projects and coordinate with project teams across different locations as required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic profiles, and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
- Size and evaluate water and wastewater treatment units (e.g., sedimentation, filtration, biological reactors, disinfection, sludge processes).
- Develop design criteria, technical notes, and process inputs to multidisciplinary design packages.
- Review drawings, specifications, and vendor data relevant to process engineering.
- Build and run treatment process models using tools such as GPS-X, BioWin, or equivalent software.
- Analyse model outputs and provide recommendations for design optimization and process performance improvements.
- Conduct site visits and plant assessments to verify existing conditions and gather operational data.
- Analyse plant data to identify performance gaps, hydraulic limitations, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Produce high‑quality engineering deliverables in accordance with internal standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
- Participate in client meetings, workshops, and design reviews as needed.
- Contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing, process standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Sanitary, Process Engineering or related field.
- Licensed Engineer in the Philippines
- 3-7 years of professional experience in water and wastewater treatment design, process engineering or related sectors
- Experience preparing process calculations, developing process flow diagrams (PFDs), and supporting in the sizing of treatment process units.
- Exposure to feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed design stages, and preparation of engineering deliverables.
- Good understanding of physical–chemical and biological treatment processes used in municipal and/or industrial water/wastewater systems
- Familiarity with local and international standards (e.g., DENR, PNSDW, USEPA, AWWA, WEF, ISO, WHO guidelines).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting technical information clearly.
- Solid technical writing skills for reports, calculations and design documentation
