Primary Focus:
The Instrumentation, Control and Automation Engineer are responsible for the design, specification, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of industrial processes.
The role focuses on measurement accuracy, process control performance, automation reliability, and system integrity, supporting operational excellence across the full asset lifecycle—from project conception through commissioning and ongoing operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and review control system architecture, specifications and control panel designs.
- Prepare instrument specifications, layout, data sheets and cable routing.
- Develop and review P&ID, hook-up drawings, connection diagrams, cable schedule, loop diagram, instrument location plan and all related ICA deliverables.
- Analyzes tender requirements (Employer/Client Requirements), identifies project’s risks and opportunities related to ICA.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and process teams to ensure ICA requirements are properly integrated into designs.
- Support project managers and design managers on medium to large infrastructure projects by providing technical inputs and monitoring process-related deliverables.
- Contribute to bids, proposal, and Client engagement activities.
- Analyze process dynamics and operational data to optimize performance, stability, and energy efficiency.
- Conduct site inspections and field surveys to assess existing instrumentation, control systems, panels, networks, and automation architectures.
- Verify installed instruments, control hardware, and signal interfaces against drawings, specifications, and asset registers.
- Ensure ICA designs and deliverables comply with standards, specifications, and quality requirements
- Communicate technical concepts effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners
- Actively seek opportunities to improve technical knowledge, modelling capability, and industry awareness.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control or Automation Engineering
- Certificate or Licensed Engineer in the Philippines
- 5-8 years of professional experience in water and wastewater treatment design and process automation industries, Instrumentation, Control and Automation engineering or related sectors.
- Strong knowledge of PLC/SCADA or DCS systems and field instrumentation.
- Designing and supporting instrumentation and PLC/SCADA systems for water treatment processes
- Developing control philosophies, alarms, interlocks, and HMIs
