Joining Arup

Arup’s purpose, shared values, and collaborative approach have set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

We are seeking a Senior Geospatial Consultant to lead and deliver geospatial solutions across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, urban development, and digital projects in Southeast Asia. This role combines technical leadership, project delivery, and client engagement, with opportunities to shape innovative, data-driven outcomes for our clients.

You will play a key role in advancing Arup’s geospatial and digital capability—working closely with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior colleagues, and contributing to business development initiatives across the region.

The Opportunity

  • Lead and deliver geospatial projects across Arup’s digital and infrastructure portfolio, ensuring quality, budget, and programme alignment
  • Design, configure, and implement geospatial solutions, including GIS platforms, spatial analytics, automation, and data management systems
  • Apply advanced spatial analytics, automation, and AI-enabled techniques (e.g. machine learning, computer vision) to generate actionable insights
  • Act as a technical advisor to internal and external stakeholders, translating complex geospatial concepts into practical solutions
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, proposals, presentations, and business development materials
  • Support market growth by identifying opportunities and contributing to bids and pursuits across Southeast Asia
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members, promoting best practice and knowledge sharing
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geospatial solutions with BIM, asset management, and other digital platforms

Is this role right for you?

  • A recognised tertiary qualification in engineering, science, geospatial disciplines, or a related field
  • Must have 10+ years of experience delivering geospatial solutions within a consulting or professional services environment
  • Proficiency in geospatial technologies such as ESRI GIS suites, open-source GIS, FME, and Microsoft Power Platform
  • Experience in end-to-end geospatial project delivery, including stakeholder engagement and client-facing roles
  • Interest or experience in AI-enabled spatial analytics, automation, and emerging digital technologies
  • Familiarity with open-source geospatial platforms (e.g. APIs, Mapbox, Cesium, GeoNode)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical ideas clearly to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and manage multiple priorities
