We are seeking a Senior BIM Consultant to act as the Malaysia delivery lead and market anchor for our Southeast Asia Digital Advisory & Solutions practice. This is a strategic hire and the first Malaysia‑based team member in a rapidly scaling regional practice across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
In this role, you will lead BIM advisory & Management delivery for Malaysian clients while helping grow Arup’s digital advisory footprint in the local market. You will operate with day‑to‑day autonomy, working closely with the SEA Practice Leader to shape client strategy, delivery standards, and market expansion plans.
The Opportunity
- Lead and deliver BIM advisory & Management engagements, including maturity assessments, execution planning, standards development, and implementation support
- Own BIM advisory & Management scopes from project initiation through to handover, ensuring quality, timelines, and strong client outcome
- Develop client‑facing deliverables such as BIM strategies, execution plans, information requirements, and training materials
- Act as Arup’s BIM advisory & Management lead in Malaysia, building client relationships and identifying new opportunities
- Support proposals, bids, and pursuits in collaboration with the SEA Practice Leader
- Contribute to practice development, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Southeast Asia
Is this role right for you?
- 7-10 years in BIM consultancy, BIM management, or digital advisory within the built environment
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field
- Postgraduate qualification in BIM, digital construction, or project management is valued but not required
- Demonstrated track record of leading BIM advisory or organisational BIM engagements end-to-end
- Experience working with asset owners or government clients on BIM strategy, standards, or implementation programmes
- Exposure to at least 2 of: aviation, rail/transport, property, infrastructure, healthcare, or data centres
- Experience preparing and winning proposals or bids for advisory/consultancy work
- Relevant certifications valued: building SMART Professional Certification, BCA BIM credentials, PMP, CIDB BIM credentials
