The Architectural Assistant will provide architecture and technical support for the design and documentation for a wide variety of infrastructure, science and industry, and other architecture projects
The Opportunity
- Prepare concept design drawings and develop detailed architectural drawings at all scales and stages of the project, from concept through to construction.
- Produce detailed cross-sections, space proofing diagrams, and architectural visualisations to support project development.
- Assist team leaders, architects, and planners in preparing project documentation, presentations, and detailed drawings, ensuring all work meets Arup’s quality and presentation standards.
- Manage project workflow, including planning and supervising the work of junior technicians, to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Support the firm’s compliance with ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 requirements, along with performing other relevant duties as required.
Is this role right for you?
- Diploma or Part 1 degree in architecture or a related discipline, with 3–5 years of relevant experience in an architectural practice.
- Demonstrate strong organisational, administrative, and interpersonal skills to support effective project execution.
- Possess hands-on expertise and a solid understanding of BIM, with proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, Navisworks, and other similar BIM software.
- Have knowledge of 3D modelling software such as SketchUp or Rhino, as well as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, which is considered an advantage.
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and the ability to acquire new technical knowledge, developing skills in emerging specialised areas.
