As a Civil & Structure BIM Modeller at Arup, your primary focus is to apply advanced Building Information Modelling (BIM) methodologies to support the seamless design, analysis, and coordination of bridge and civil structure projects. You will develop, manage, and maintain detailed 3D bridge models using industry-standard tools, ensuring alignment with engineering requirements and project objectives. Drawing on your structural and civil modelling expertise, you will work closely with bridge engineers and multidisciplinary teams to produce accurate digital models, coordinated drawings, and construction documentation.
Your role includes supporting design reviews, clash detection, and model-based decision-making to enhance project efficiency and quality.
The Opportunity
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for bridge and civil structure projects using industry‑standard tools
- Produce accurate, coordinated drawings and model‑based deliverables aligned with engineering and project requirements
- Support design reviews, clash detection, and model quality checks to ensure coordination integrity
- Apply and support BIM standards, protocols, and best practices across projects
- Work collaboratively with structural, civil, geotechnical, and highway engineers within multidisciplinary teams
- Provide guidance and technical support to junior team members where required
- Participate in internal initiatives that contribute to the ongoing development of BIM workflows and capabilities
Is this role right for you?
- A recognised qualification such as a Diploma in Building & Construction / Civil Engineering or equivalent in Engineering Drafting
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in civil and structural BIM modelling, ideally within infrastructure projects such as bridges, highways, rail, airports, or similar
- Proficiency in Revit, BIM360/ACC, and Navisworks, with hands‑on experience producing detailed 3D models and coordinated deliverables
- Experience working with bridge design documentation, drawings, schedules, and model outputs
- Exposure to multidisciplinary coordination within a consulting or construction environment
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and a collaborative approach to working in project teams
