The ideal candidate will have over 5–8 years of relevant experience to lead and deliver the design of ICT physical infrastructure with primary focus on structured cabling systems, cable containment, pathway and riser design, rack and IT room planning, and communications networks and telecommunication passive infrastructure across large-scale infrastructure, data centre, smart campus and mixed-use developments of varying complexity and scale. Experience in other ELV or building technology systems would be considered an added advantage.
This role will act as the design lead for projects with ICT scope, responsible for managing and coordinating the production of design and construction deliverables including drawings, specifications, reports and technical studies related to ICT physical infrastructure. The candidate is expected to conduct technical site surveys and investigations, support installation and construction activities, and demonstrate strong understanding of building services prerequisites for ICT systems such as power, cooling and environmental requirements to ensure safe and resilient operations.
The position will contribute to the delivery of high-performance and high-availability ICT infrastructure solutions, while working within a distributed team environment to support regional projects and future growth opportunities across Malaysia and the wider Southeast Asia portfolio.
The Opportunity
- Act as ICT design lead for assigned projects, responsible for technical delivery of ICT infrastructure packages including structured cabling,
- containment, pathways, risers, ICT rooms and communications networks
- Manage ICT design development and construction deliverables in compliance with relevant industry standards and project requirements
- Lead requirements capture, validation and technical coordination with clients and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure quality and consistency of project outputs against agreed standards, specifications and delivery schedules
- Carry out QA reviews of drawings, models and documentation produced by engineers, technicians and consultants
- Develop ICT performance specifications, design calculations, technical reports and tender documentation using AutoCAD and/or BIM workflows
- Coordinate ICT infrastructure design with architectural, structural, MEP and specialist systems to ensure buildability and integration
- Support construction-stage activities including technical queries, shop drawing reviews and site coordination where required
- Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to support design development and project delivery
- Mentor junior staff and support capability development within the ICT team
- Contribute to proposal preparation and resource planning for Malaysia ICT opportunities

Is this role right for you?
- Degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in ICT physical infrastructure design and delivery across large-scale campus, infrastructure or data centre projects
- Strong experience with structured cabling systems (copper and fibre optic), cable containment and pathways, room spatial planning and coordination/integration with other building services infrastructure
- Understanding of building services interfaces for ICT systems including power, cooling and environmental requirements
- Basic understanding of ICT networks and topologies
- Awareness of IT and OT system architectures and their implications on ICT infrastructure design
- Proven ability to coordinate with clients, architects, MEP teams and multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Ability to prepare clear technical documentation including reports, specifications and design deliverables
- Demonstrated capability in managing workload priorities, design programme and competing project demands
- Good understanding of relevant industry standards and frameworks (e.g. COPIF, TIA-942, ISO, IEEE or equivalent)
