As a Senior Transport Planner, you are responsible for managing and delivering high quality urban mobility projects including project management of urban mobility projects (including large scale and long term public transport projects), delivering and coordinating transport analysis and strategies, technical leadership and delivery of mobility scopes on masterplanning projects. Your responsibility also includes stakeholder engagement, including a key point of liaison between Arup and Government of Indonesia clients (Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Transport and provincial governments), Indonesia entities in the transport planning space including PT MRT Jakarta, PT Transportasi Jakarta etc. and funding programmes including Australian infrastructure and climate programme to promote Arup’s capability in urban mobility and city development.
This role will report to Indonesia Transport Planning Leader and project managers or directors, for assigned projects primarily in the Indonesia market, and also for regional projects in ASEAN, as needed. You will be supported by our wider transport planning team in Indonesia and the region as well as multidisciplinary staff in our Cities Planning and Design group - A truly integrated team of engineers, planners, designers, analysts, and consultants who are helping to shape a better world.
The Opportunity
- Undertake roles of deputy team leader or project manager, accountable for day to day delivery of projects and likely be responsible for multiple concurrent projects (if of smaller scale) and lead project management and coordination with government relations
- Shape and contribute to creating business opportunities and partnership strategies for projects (small to large). Develop work programs, set budgets, drafting successful proposals and tender documents, manage deliverables, manage staff resources, and cultivate client relationships
- Lead analysis, relevant transportation surveys and coordinate staff to undertake analysis at project feasibility or operational planning across multi modal transportation planning including bus and rail
- Coordination of cross discipline technical specialists and sub-consultant inputs to produce multidisciplinary transportation studies, such as transport demand survey specialist, rail systems/ bus systems, financial specialist, etc.
- You will lead and be involved in relevant proposals and tender documents, help to assemble teams and manage the proposal process supporting the bid director.

Is this role right for you?
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (preferably with transport modules) or a related discipline, with a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
- At least 7 years of transport planning experience within a consulting environment, including engagement with government agencies and key clients.
- Strong technical expertise in strategic transport planning, including bus, rail, and active mobility modes.
- Proven project management experience delivering transport infrastructure or planning projects.
- Membership (or significant progress toward membership) in relevant professional institutions, with working knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and Arup OH&S procedures.
