Joining Arup

Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

Arup is the creative force at the heart of many of the world’s most prominent projects in the built and natural environment. Working in more than 140 countries, the firm’s designers, engineers, architects, planners, consultants, and technical specialists work with our clients on innovative projects of the highest quality and impact. As a wholly independent organisation, we are owned in trust for the benefit of our employees and their dependants: with no shareholders or external investors we determine our own business priorities and direction.

The Opportunity

As a member of the UKIMEA Marketing and Communications Operations team, this role is responsible for delivering the marketing activities defined by the UKIMEA Marketing, Communications and Business Development Director and the Business Partners for the Transport area of the business.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to shape and lead the delivery of the integrated Transport portfolio campaign plan, positioning Arup’s Transport offerings across Rail, Aviation, Roads & Streets, and Maritime within the UKIMEA region. You will collaborate closely with Portfolio Business Partner, Transport-aligned Marketing and Communications professionals, as well as specialists including social media, Content, External, and Internal Communications teams.

This role enables you to drive the delivery marketing initiatives and introduce innovative approaches to comprehensive multi-channel campaigns. You will engage with a broad network of stakeholders to help define key propositions and messaging, implementing an array of marketing and communications tactics. These may include asset development, collateral production, editorial content, events, both paid and organic social media activity, and media engagement.

Members of the Operations team are aligned to defined Portfolios and Geographies and will work regularly with the same Portfolio and Geography. Where resourcing demands it, individuals will work with other Portfolios/Geographies and support region-wide projects and activities as required.

This role will report to the UKIMEA Transport Portfolio Business Partner who define the annual plan of activity and are responsible for the successful delivery of the plan, together with ad hoc activities as required. On a day-to-day basis, you will work collaboratively with the Business Partners alongside other members of the Operations team to deliver activities defined by them.

Key responsibilities:

This role will be aligned to the Transport Portfolio. You will help co-design marketing strategies and campaigns plans, as well as deliver and evaluate their success. You will have day-to-day responsibility for the smart execution of tactical activity aligned to the strategic marketing plans that maximises return on investment. This will involve:

  • Working closely with stakeholders in the business to develop highly productive relationships and guide a strategic approach to marketing that aligns to business priorities.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in our region-wide team, including those with specialisms in events, digital marketing, social media, and content production.
  • Working with colleagues across the wider communications and marketing network (geography-aligned marketers, account-based marketers, win work teams, PR, internal communications, public affairs, and visual communications) to shape and deliver outputs that deliver impact.
  • Liaising with global and other region counterparts in these portfolios on global projects as appropriate.
  • Ensuring brand coherence across all activity.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
