As a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Arup, you will have a direct impact on the business by delivering top talent to the firm. As a key member of our team, you will manage recruitment responsibilities in close partnership with business leaders and the wider People team. You will be trusted to manage your recruitment markets while working collaboratively with local leadership in Japan and Arup’s connected global Talent Acquisition community. This role is a 12 month contract, created to support sustained business growth and workforce needs in Japan.

The Opportunity
• Lead end to end recruitment from briefing and market analysis ensuring alignment with business priorities and operational hiring needs.
• Develop and deliver targeted sourcing strategies, including market mapping and direct outreach, to build diverse pipelines for specialist and hard to fill roles.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and hiring managers, providing data driven insights on market trends, talent availability, and effective hiring approaches.
• Champion fair, structured, and inclusive recruitment practices that reflect Arup’s values and support a respectful, high performing workplace.
• Deliver a high quality, candidate centred experience, managing communications across internal and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless and professional journey from application to offer.
• Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and global teams (including Rewards, Mobility, EDI, and Operations), while maintaining data integrity, compliance, and reporting standards through accurate use of the applicant tracking system.

Is this role right for you?
• Significant experience in full cycle recruitment, ideally within engineering, construction, or professional services environments, with strong capability in direct sourcing and market mapping.
• Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent tertiary education).
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, influence senior leaders, and collaborate across local and global teams.
• Self motivated, detail oriented problem solver with experience in process improvement and continuous development.
• Commitment to inclusive and fair hiring practices, with experience contributing to diverse and high performing teams.
• Business level Japanese language capability and professional English proficiency, enabling effective engagement with local stakeholders and Arup’s global teams.
