Our Transport Consulting team plays a key role in supporting public and private sector clients in navigating the transition towards net zero mobility systems, integrating technology, policy and infrastructure planning to deliver more sustainable, efficient and inclusive transport systems.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to support the delivery of transport strategy and advisory projects.

You will work across:

• Transport decarbonisation and energy transition

• Smart mobility and digital transport systems

• Strategic planning and policy development

As a Senior Consultant at Arup, you will:

• Lead the delivery of transport strategies, policy frameworks and advisory studies

• Structure analysis and develop clear, robust strategic recommendations

• Contribute to projects on decarbonisation, electrification and future mobility

• Translate technical analysis into clear, client-ready narratives

• Support project leadership and mentor junior team members

• Contribute to technical proposals and methodologies

Does this role inspire you?

We're looking for someone who is passionate about taking initiative and exploring beyond clearly defined tasks, bringing curiosity and a proactive mindset to their work. We also value:

• Degree in Engineering, Economics, Transport, Urban Planning or similar. Preferred: MBA or postgraduate degree (Master’s/PhD) in Transport, Mobility, Logistics, Data Analytics or related fields

• 6–10 years of experience in transport, mobility or strategic consulting,

  studies and planning projects

• Strong analytical, data-driven, and problem-structuring capabilities

• Experience in strategy and policy development

• Understanding of decarbonisation and smart mobility

• Valuable (not essential)

  • Experience in demand modelling or economic analysis

  • Exposure to international projects or policy environments

  • Familiarity with data analysis, GIS or transport tools

  • Experience in strategic logistics or supply chain advisory (e.g. network design, logistics strategy, multimodal transport)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Spanish and English (C1–C2 required). Additional languages are valued
