The Opportunity
Project Management
Under the guidance and minimum supervision of the senior staff, and to the extent delegated by the project director, you will be responsible mainly for project management activities throughout the whole project life cycle either partially or entirely. Specifically, you will be responsible for preparing project implementation strategies, setting out the project plan for delivering the project within the budget, programme and at the desired quality. General tasks will be taking minutes of meetings, preparing, managing and maintaining schedules and cost plans, preparing and implementing tender documents, liaising with project stakeholders and subcontractors, and managing documents. Contract administration, progress and quality monitoring, and change management will be the key activities during the construction phase, through to the completion and handover.
Various advisory services
In collaboration with other disciplines and engineers, we conduct various advisory and management consultancy services e.g. design consultancy, research on the construction market, ESG and environmental certification (mainly LEED) advisory, and provide technical advice etc.
The role will be to act as an advisor or assist the senior advisor with providing preliminary research activities, coordinating with other disciplines and offices. Also undertake with certain autonomy overall progress management and client interface.

• Collaboration with other teams: Tokyo Office is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm that provides design and advisory services such as building engineering and renewable energy. We work together within Tokyo office and also with overseas Arup offices on projects and develop our services in a holistic approach.

Is this role right for you?
Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following
• Construction project management and construction management experience
• At least 7 years' experience in architectural design, structural or MEP engineering, or working in a construction related environment such as general contractor, real estate, construction consultant or estimator, preferably with a first class architect license.
• Acting as a key interface to internal/external stakeholders in a construction project through to the completion.
• Ability to write and read English documents with certain formality.
• Ability to understand general legal and contractual documents, manage contractual relationships, and undertake contract administration within a context of construction/development projects.
• Ability to communicate in English, including meetings and emails.
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to develop value propositions for new opportunity and attract clients with strategically tailored service proposals.

• You should be a team player, respectful of your teammates and able to work amicably and proactively with international offices.
• You should be mindful with and proactive in securing healthy profitability of the project(s) in charge.
Education / Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher
Preferred / additional attributes
• First class architect (一級建築士), and preferred to have professional qualification such as PMP, CMAJ, APMP, PMS, PE etc.
