The Opportunity
• Mechanical Design/Engineering: As a member of the Building Engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical design work across a range of assigned projects.
• You will collaborate closely with other disciplines, including electrical building services, structural engineering, and façade engineering. The Arup Japan Group is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy providing design and advisory services in building services, renewable energy, and related fields. In addition to working with various disciplines within the Tokyo office, you will also collaborate with overseas offices across the Arup Group to deliver projects and develop services through an integrated, holistic approach.
• Reporting line: MEP Leader (one of the two teams)
• Number of team members: around 30 (combined total for both teams)Be willing to take on new challenges

Is this role right for you?
Knowledge and experience in the following
• At least 3 years’ first-hand experience in mechanical design & engineering in Japan
• Native or equivalent in Japanese

Others
• Be willing to take on new challenges
• Team worker; Ability to work proactively with our overseas offices
• Be willing to communicate in English

Education / Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline (e.g. architecture, electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering)
• First-class architect, first-class equipment designer, building equipment technician, third-class electrician, or planning to become one
