Engineer - Renewable Energy (Wind Energy)
Arup
Manila, Philippines
Joining Arup
Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach have set us apart for 80 years, guiding how we shape a better world.
The Manila Energy Team is expanding its Wind Energy capability to support renewable energy expansion, resilience, and decarbonization across the Philippines and the wider Asia‑Pacific region. This role is repositioned to place an emphasis on wind energy technology experience, alongside selective project oversight.
The Opportunity
Embedded within the Manila Energy Business and the wider Infrastructure team under the EWR+T Infra cost center, the position focuses on understanding the technical aspects of wind technology and general renewable energy principles, including:
• Wind resource assessment (WRA)
• Energy yield assessment (EYA)
• IEC standards (esp. IEC 61400-1,-12, -15)
• Familiarity with onshore and/or offshore wind farm development cycles
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary project teams
You will act primarily as a Renewable Energy Engineer focusing on Wind Energy Technology, supporting the conversion of opportunities from early client engagement through proposal development, technical positioning, and mobilization of delivery teams. Hands on project coordination responsibility will typically apply to routine assignments where scope, complexity, and strategic impact are more modest.
The role involves collaboration with utilities, system operators, regulators, and developers, as well as Arup’s global Wind Energy and Infrastructure specialists. You will support the development of solution strategies, contribute to scope definition, and help ensure Arup’s technical excellence is clearly communicated during pursuits. You will be expected to contribute technical expertise in wind energy projects, support multidisciplinary teams, and assist in identifying opportunities to leverage Arup’s integrated capabilities across electrical, civil/structural, mechanical, geotechnical, environmental, digital, and advisory services.
At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.
You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
