The Opportunity

Join the Manila Rail team to contribute to the design and delivery of complex rail and infrastructure projects. As an Assistant Engineer, you will support civil and structural design development while building your technical skills and gaining exposure to multidisciplinary and regional collaboration across a range of railway assets.

The role is based in Manila office.

Your role in our team

  • Assist in the design and coordination of rail and other infrastructure projects.
  • Support in preparing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support project managers and other stakeholders in project execution.
  • Support senior engineers in conducting feasibility studies, detailed designs and risk assessments for proposed projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address project requirements and challenges.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in civil and structural engineering.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Is this role right for you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil/Railways) or related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, but fresh graduates may also be considered for Graduate Engineer position
  • Sound knowledge of local and international standards, engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
  • Must be motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Must be able to maintain and develop successful client relationships and must be a team player and keen learner.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision and should be a team player and open to coordinating with engineers of other trades / inter-disciplinary coordination.
  • Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects
  • Willingness and ability to travel to other Arup offices in the East Asia / Southeast Asia or other Regions when required to enhance experience and skills.
