Joining Arup

Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 80 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Project Manager, you will provide professional project management services across complex engineering, infrastructure, and advisory projects, ensuring successful outcomes for our clients. You will lead project delivery from planning and implementation through to completion, managing scope, time, cost, quality, risk, and stakeholder expectations. Working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, you will also play a key role in business development, mentoring project managers, and driving excellence across our Programme & Project Services portfolio.

  • Lead the delivery of design, construction, and advisory projects, ensuring quality outcomes while effectively managing project scope, programme, budget, risks, and resources.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans, establish project governance frameworks, and provide strategic advice to clients through clear reporting and analysis.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, identifying opportunities to expand services and support business growth.
  • Lead or contribute to the preparation of bids, tenders, proposals, and client presentations to secure new project opportunities.
  • Mentor and support junior project managers, fostering capability development and promoting a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Business Management, or a related discipline, supported by recognised project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, PMQ, CPPM, MSP, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams, with proven capability across scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently assess project performance, identify issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience in business development, client relationship management, and bid preparation, with a track record of delivering successful project and commercial outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, combined with a proactive, professional, and collaborative approach, ideally supported by experience in the Science, Industry & Technology sector, particularly Data Centres.
