Join Arup's Climate and Sustainability team in Kuala Lumpur and help clients navigate complex climate challenges. This role focuses on climate change mitigation and adaptation, supporting organisations to accelerate decarbonisation, strengthen resilience and deliver lasting sustainability outcomes.
The focus of this role is to provide services and support in the areas of Climate Policy and Institutional Development, Sector Transformation and Market Creation, Emissions Modelling / Decarbonisation and Climate Risk Assessment and Resilience.
The Opportunity
- To lead and manage project delivery for a broad range of building, infrastructure, city planning and advisory projects, addressing how design endeavours respond to sustainability goals.
- To represent Arup in internal and external client engagements, providing sustainability advice on building performance, city planning and climate (decarbonisation & adaptation) services.
- To manage a range of sustainability projects, either as a technical specialist in support of a wider team or as the Project Manager managing team, delivery, technical oversight, budget and programme.
- To undertake and review energy modelling, CFD simulations, carbon assessment, and other building physics analysis on projects.
- To be responsible for checking the quality and accuracy of own and others’ work and working under minimal supervision.

Is this role right for you?
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities.
- Relevant tertiary qualification within Architecture, Consulting or Engineering.
- Experience leading projects involving building sustainability design, carbon assessment, net zero transition and sustainability advisory.
- Analysis and interpretation skills in solar radiation, CFD, thermal comfort, energy modelling, daylighting, glare and whole life carbon assessment.
- Experience using design software such as Rhino, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Grasshopper, Ladybug, Honeybee, OneClickLCA, IESVE and basic scripting capabilities would be highly advantageous.
- Certified accredited professional of sustainability rating systems (e.g. GBI, GreenRE, MyCREST, Green Mark, LEED, WELL, Living Building Challenge, EDGE, GRI).
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments.
