The Opportunity

Job Title: Design Liaison Representative (DLR) – Electrical/Building Services Engineer

Job Location: Airport Island

The Design Liaison Representative (DLR) will be working at the Authority’s office or in a site office assigned by the Authority in the vicinity to the works during contract period to expedite statutory submissions, preparation of responses to urgent/minor design issues, issue of DANs. etc. The DLR is required on site for the duration of the works, including shop drawing development. The Building Services DLRs shall provide engineering and design support to the implementation of the Works, including services relating to DANs, RFIs and drawing revisions, or otherwise as may be required by the Authority’s Representative or its delegates. The purpose of such construction stage support services is to facilitate the efficient execution of the Works Contract in a manner that is free from delays, disruption or costs associated with the management of design related or technical issues. The DLR will need to work closely with the Arup project design team and provide engineering and design support to the implementation of the Works, including services related to drawings, RFIs, or otherwise as may be required by the Authority’s Representative or its delegates.

Is this role right for you?

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Degree in in EL/BS discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in EL/ELV/BS design Years of Experience
  • Member of HKIE (in EL/BS discipline) or equivalent with 1 to 5 years of post-qualification experience
  • Minimum of 1 to 5 years post-qualification experiences in multi-disciplinary projects
  • Previous experience in electrical works and similar role as the DLR will be an advantage.
  • Be adaptable and able to work independently coupled with strong interpersonal skills
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese

What we offer you

The commencement and duration of the construction stage support service will depend on the construction progress. The initial contract will be for 12 months, but this may be extended depending on the development of the project. AAHK and Arup will also review the performance of the candidate on the contract period. Standard working hours will be five days per week, plus an alternative half-day on Saturday. An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidates. Arup will give at least two (2) weeks’ notice to confirm when the DLR is required to commence work and when their service will be completed.

Additional Information

The DLRs will be normally required to work the following days and hours:
(a) Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 18:00; and
(b) Alternate Saturdays, from 9:00 to 13:00
