Join our growing Environment team as an Environmental Consultant, applying your expertise in environmental planning, environmental impact assessment and statutory approvals to projects that help shape Queensland's future. You will work across a diverse portfolio spanning major transport and infrastructure projects, as well as the energy, water and resources sectors. Local experience and knowledge of Queensland's planning and approvals framework is required.

Working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, you'll help navigate complex environmental challenges and deliver successful outcomes from planning through to approvals. This role is particularly suited to someone with experience in environmental impact assessment, approvals strategy and environmental planning in the transport infrastructure sector.

The Opportunity

• Provide environmental planning, impact assessment, and approvals support for a range of infrastructure, energy, water, and government projects.
• Prepare environmental reports, assessments, and technical documentation that deliver clear advice and practical solutions for clients.
• Contribute to bids, tenders, and business development activities by providing environmental expertise and strategic input.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and liaise with specialists across the business to deliver integrated project outcomes.
• Manage defined project tasks with minimal supervision while ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with relevant environmental legislation and approval requirements.

Is this role right for you?

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 4 to 6 years of professional experience in environmental consulting in Queensland, including transport infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience in environmental planning, environmental impact assessment, and statutory approval processes.
• Strong understanding of relevant Queensland and Australian environmental legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and industry guidelines.
• Familiarity with GIS, data analysis, or digital tools for environmental assessment
• Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and maintain a strong focus on sustainability and quality outcomes.
