Provide advanced technical drafting, CAD and BIM modelling services for Bridge & Civil Structures projects. Take responsibility for specific project deliverables, coordinate modelling and drafting activities, review and check technical documentation and provide guidance to less experienced technicians. Support project teams in delivering high-quality bridge and civil structure documentation in accordance with Arup standards and client requirements.
The Opportunity
- Working under minimal direct guidance within a defined area of responsibility, this role includes responsibility for specific parts of bridge and civil structure projects. Check and ensure the quality and accuracy of own work and potentially the work of others. Provide guidance, training and feedback to junior technicians where required.
- Lead the preparation of technical drawings and documentation for bridge and civil structure projects, demonstrating expertise in technical drafting.
- Lead the creation and modification of detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and BIM models for transportation and infrastructure projects
- Prepare, coordinate and review bridge general arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, bridge deck layouts, post-tensioning details, retaining wall drawings, culvert drawings, pile cap drawings, foundation drawings and construction drawings.
- Collaborate closely with bridge engineers and civil structure engineers to efficiently translate engineering concepts into technical drawings while ensuring strict compliance with drafting standards and project requirements.
Is this role right for you?
- Diploma or recognized qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Technical Drafting, CAD Technology or related discipline.
- More than 8 years of relevant experience in bridge and civil structure drafting, CAD production and BIM modelling.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience using OpenBridge, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks or equivalent BIM platforms.
- Experience producing and checking bridge and civil structure drawings and BIM deliverables.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards, CAD standards and model coordination procedures.
- Ability to coordinate drafting deliverables and provide guidance to junior technicians.
