We are a global consultancy with extensive technical and advisory expertise. Our Architecture team in Istanbul works at the intersection of design ambition and technical rigour delivering major railway and public transport infrastructure projects at an international scale, with a particular focus on stations, interchanges, and passenger facilities that serve communities for generations.
The Opportunity
We are strengthening our Architecture team in Istanbul: an architect with genuine experience in transport and infrastructure projects, who can contribute to the design and delivery of complex, large-scale commissions across all project stages, from concept through to detailed design and construction support. This role sits within a multidisciplinary environment and connects directly to Arup's global architecture and infrastructure network. The work is international in scope, technically demanding, and passenger-focused in its design philosophy offering a compelling platform for an architect who wants to shape the future of public transport infrastructure.
As an Architect — Major Transport & Infrastructure Projects at Arup, you will:
Architectural design delivery across all project stages; developing creative, sustainable, functional, and technically robust design solutions for major railway and public transport infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on stations, interchanges, and passenger facilities, from conceptual design through to detailed design and construction support.
Co-ordinate multidisciplinary teams working closely with civil, structural, MEP, and rail systems engineers and specialist disciplines across Arup's global network, ensuring technical coherence and design integrity throughout all project stages.
Deliver BIM-enabled project outputs supporting technical quality and programme compliance through Revit-based BIM delivery, managing design documentation and drawing production within agreed timelines.
Collaborate across Arup's international network working with design leads, technical specialists, and project teams based in multiple Arup offices worldwide, contributing to the delivery of projects across different regions and cultural contexts.
Support the growth of Arup's transport and infrastructure portfolio contributing to the technical and design quality that underpins Arup's reputation in the transport architecture sector and supporting the lead architect in business and project development activities where required.

Academic background: Architecture degree or equivalent professional qualification and experience; 5+ years of relevant architectural design experience across all project phases, from conceptual through to detailed design experience in construction site support is an advantage.
Transport architecture expertise: Strong understanding of transport architecture, passenger-focused design, and station planning; demonstrated capability in the design and delivery of railway stations, interchanges, or similar major public infrastructure.
Multidisciplinary co-ordination: Demonstrated experience co-ordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams (civil, structural, MEP, rail systems) and delivering integrated design solutions within a BIM-enabled project environment.
Technical software proficiency: Strong proficiency in Revit for BIM-based delivery and drawing production; proficiency in presentation tools including Adobe Photoshop and Lumion; Rhino3D is an advantage.
Communication and collaboration: You build trusted working relationships across international and multicultural teams, communicate design intent clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, and present work with confidence. Strong professional proficiency in English (written and spoken); international project experience is highly desirable.
