BIM Coordinator — Transport Infrastructure
Istanbul, Türkiye
Shape a future with purpose at Arup in Istanbul & Ankara.
Arup's purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for 80 years, guiding how we shape a better world. We guide, plan and design the future of the built environment.
We are a global consultancy with extensive technical and advisory expertise. Our BIM team in Türkiye works across a portfolio of complex transport infrastructure projects, roads, bridges, rail, and metro, ensuring that information is coordinated, models are integrated, and delivery is efficient from concept through to construction.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a BIM Coordinator to join our team and support the delivery of transport infrastructure projects across Türkiye and the wider region. This role sits at the intersection of technical delivery and digital governance, ensuring that BIM processes, model coordination, and information management function effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
As a BIM Coordinator – Transport Infrastructure at Arup, you will:
Produce and coordinate BIM delivery across disciplines, producing and managing federated models across civil, structural, and transport systems workstreams, leading and/or supporting clash detection and resolution workflows, and taking part in project teams in producing coordinated BIM models and technical outputs throughout all project stages.
Implement and govern BIM standards, developing, implementing, and monitoring BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project-specific requirements; ensuring compliance with Arup BIM standards, ISO 19650 principles, and client requirements at every stage of the project.
Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE), maintaining structured information exchange across the project using platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, or ProjectWise; ensuring all information is correctly classified, issued, and accessible to the right people at the right time.
Quality assure models and deliverables, reviewing models and drawings for quality, accuracy, and consistency; providing technical guidance to BIM modellers and junior team members; and identifying and driving improvements in BIM workflows, tools, and automation.
Engage stakeholders and facilitate coordination, acting as the primary point of contact for BIM-related queries within the project team; coordinating with design teams, project managers, and digital leads; and facilitating BIM coordination meetings to resolve interface and integration issues efficiently.
Does this role inspire you?
We are looking for someone who brings a combination of the following. If you don't meet every single point but believe you'd thrive in this role, we'd still love to hear from you.
Infrastructure BIM experience: Demonstrable experience in BIM modelling and coordination within infrastructure projects — transport, bridges, rail, or highways — with a clear track record of coordinating multi-disciplinary models and delivering quality outcomes on programme.
Software proficiency: Strong proficiency in Revit and Civil 3D for modelling and drawing production; Navisworks for model coordination and clash detection; and working experience with Common Data Environments such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, or ProjectWise.
Standards and process knowledge: Solid understanding of ISO 19650 standards, model federation and coordination principles, and BIM Execution Plan (BEP) requirements; experience developing or implementing BEPs is an advantage.
Technical leadership and quality focus: Ability to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency, review workload methodically and raise issues proactively to keep delivery on track.
Digital capability and communication: Strong professional proficiency in English (written and spoken); familiarity with Infraworks, Dynamo, or other automation tools is an advantage.
