The Opportunity
This leadership role focuses on growing and shaping a commercially successful Asset Management portfolio across the Gold Coast and South East Queensland. Working closely with senior clients and leaders, you will drive business growth, strengthen client relationships, and develop long-term capability. The role is responsible for portfolio strategy, commercial performance, and major pursuits, while ensuring alignment with broader Queensland, ANZ, and APAC priorities. As a senior leader, you will influence the future direction of the business and bring together expertise across Arup to deliver value for clients.

This role is based in Gold Coast.

  • Build and maintain senior client relationships, identify and shape strategic Asset Management opportunities, and represent Arup's capability in key client and market engagements.
  • Define and grow the Asset Management capability on the Gold Coast, ensuring the right leadership, expertise, and resources are in place to support business growth and long-term portfolio success.
  • Partner with ANZ and APAC Asset Management leaders to strengthen cross-regional collaboration, leverage broader expertise, and align capability development and delivery approaches across the business.
  • Oversee the commercial performance of the Asset Management portfolio by monitoring revenue, profitability, utilisation, pipeline conversion, and delivery outcomes, while providing strategic recommendations on capability investment, resource allocation, and portfolio priorities.
  • Lead major pursuits and investment decisions, ensuring opportunities are strategically aligned, commercially viable, appropriately resourced, and effectively managed for risk and growth.
  • Strengthen team capability and performance through effective leadership, talent development, workforce planning, and clear accountability for quality, collaboration, and client service.

Is this role right for you?

  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in asset management, engineering, business, infrastructure or a related discipline.
  • Over 10+ years’ experience leading Asset Management teams, delivering complex asset management projects and growing client portfolio
  • Strong commercial judgement across bid and investment decisions, portfolio management, pricing strategy, and balancing business growth with sustainable delivery outcomes.
  • Ability to improve underperforming projects, programmes, or delivery functions while leveraging cross-regional and multidisciplinary expertise to strengthen delivery outcomes and solve complex client challenges.
  • Experience in developing teams and capability, including recruitment, coaching, succession planning, mentoring senior and emerging talent, and creating clear standards for performance.
  • Relevant professional accreditation such as RPEQ, NPER, ISO 55000 certification, Engineers Australia Fellowship, or other equivalent industry-recognised credentials will be highly regarded.
